What happens when two Dads decide to start restoring old bikes in a shed at Flemington Primary School?
Kids get interested in bikes.
They ride bikes more.
They learn how to maintain bikes.
Then their parents learn as well.
Bikes get handed down from one generation to the next instead of being thrown out during the hard rubbish collection.
A community engages around a little shed and a small pile of tools.
At a time when bicycle riding amongst children is at historical lows this is a wonderful success story.
Local bike shops and other businesses are sponsoring them and plans are afoot to set up in more primary schools.
